Studio Dental Arts is an independent, family-owned, and family-focused biological dental practice in Studio City, California, serving patients from across the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles area. Biological dentistry is a science-based, big-picture approach to overall health and well-being.

Our office is fluoride-free, mercury-free, and mercury-safe. We use biocompatible materials to keep your immune-system unburdened, and filling materials that are ceramic-based and BPA-free.

Modern health can sometimes be a very challenging puzzle. I remember in my 20's and 30's, like most kids, I felt like "Superman" -- invincible. But I was quickly surprised and humbled by my own personal health hurdles. Visiting a few doctors and specialists, I quickly realized that modern medicine provided little in the way of understanding or addressing root causes of disease. A diagnosis of "rhupus" left me puzzled. So by necessity I was drawn to alternative medicine.

I learned the hard way that, although dental school taught us that mercury in amalgam fillings is safe, it wasn't safe at all. Similarly, the food pyramid recommends grains (wheat / gluten) as a primary food source. What a terrible synergism this turned out to be. And with a spontaneously dislocating knee that introduced me to the wheel chair, I knew I had to act fast.

I started asking and observing, reading, researching, and testing. I learned why some people are hit harder by the modern toxic world than others. I eventually learned the biochemical links between cancer or autoimmunity and seemingly trivial issues like snoring. I learned how dental disease is linked to heart disease, for example. And I used this knowledge to heal myself.

So was born my mission: to help others escape the modern-medicine health trap. Sometimes, it can be a full-time job to understand and solve modern health puzzles. But I realize that most people don't have the luxury of time and the ability to devote 40 hours a week to studying health. I was lucky to have both a professional degree and biochemistry degree, not-to-mention post-graduate training in computer science too. This combined with my own personal experience has allowed me to help bring others "up-to-speed" very quickly.

Instead of the usual dental visit which marks all your cavities on a digital chart, provides textbook recommendations to floss and brush more, and ends with an appointment to drill and fill holes in your teeth, our approach is all about aiming a giant spoltlight onto the root causes of all disease. With understanding ... comes control. Yes, we'll fix your cavities and gums, and do it extremely well, but we'll do everything we can to help make sure you and your loved ones will never again have dental or any chronic disease.

My father began his dental career in 1976 with a grand vision for what dentistry could be. He opened several practices over the decades, some large, and some small. Their success offered me the freedom and opportunity to realize and fine tune my own goals -- total health. Studio Dental Arts was established in 2010 and has allowed me to help thousands of individuals improve their health, prevent dental disease, and even help many systemic conditions and esoteric issues. Patients often report improvements to energy, mental clarity, and anxiety as well as to conditions such as diabetes and autoimmune disease.

I've never been "business-minded," so I operated the office at non-profit levels for most of its life. With the recent global inflation and economic pressures, costs all around have gone up. But I've always wanted to simply help others, so I still provide many services at non-profit levels. Providing biological dental services at fees below nearby conventional (toxic) offices is an achievement we've been very proud of.
